Print-ready labels

The label is the only part of your documentation that a person touches while holding the container. It has to be legally correct and physically legible at the same time — and those two requirements pull against each other on a 50 ml bottle.

Generated from the classification, not retyped

Our labels are produced from the same classification that drives the safety data sheet. Nobody copies hazard statements from one document into the other, which removes an entire class of defect: the label that says one thing and the sheet another.

Change the classification and the label changes with it. That matters more than it sounds, because CLP is amended regularly and the label is usually the last artefact anyone remembers to update.

What each label carries

Pictograms

GHS pictograms as vectors, correctly proportioned, with the red border intact at every output size. Selected by the precedence rules, so you do not end up with two pictograms saying the same thing.

Signal word

Danger or Warning, derived from the highest hazard class present — never both, never omitted when one is required.

H and P statements

Full hazard statements, and precautionary statements selected rather than dumped. A label listing every applicable P-statement is compliant and unreadable.

Identifiers

Substance name, CAS, EC and index number where applicable, plus the nominal quantity.

Supplier block

Name, address and telephone of an identifiable entity inside the relevant jurisdiction — a legal requirement and a frequent omission.

Transport marks

Where the goods are dangerous for carriage, the transport marking is prepared alongside the supply label instead of after the fact.

Formats and sizes

You get vector output for print and raster output for screens and internal systems. Labels are laid out for the container you actually use — tell us the bottle, drum or sachet size and we set the minimum type heights against it, rather than shrinking one artwork until it stops being legible.

  • Vector for the print shop — scales to any format without softening the pictogram borders.
  • Raster at print resolution for label printers and warehouse systems.
  • Multiple languages on one label, where the destination requires it, laid out so each language block stays intact rather than reflowing into its neighbour.
  • Batch and date fields left as overprint zones if you fill them on the line.

The small-container problem

When everything required will not fit

On very small packaging the full set of statements physically does not fit at a legible size. There are lawful ways to handle this and unlawful ones that look identical to a non-specialist. We will tell you which applies to your container instead of quietly shrinking the type below the minimum.

Ordering

Send the CAS number and the container format. If you already hold a safety data sheet for the substance, send that too — if its classification is current, the label is generated directly from it; if it is not, the free audit will show you why before you print several thousand of them.

A label printed against a superseded classification is worse than no label, because it carries authority it has not earned. Check the classification before the print run, not after.
